Senior Key Account Manager, Denmark

Camurus has recently received marketing approval in the EU and Australia of its first pharmaceutical product Buvidal® prolonged-released solution for injection indicated for the treatment of opioid dependence. Camurus is a Swedish research-based pharmaceutical company, based in Lund, committed to developing and commercialising innovative and long-acting medicines for the treatment of severe and chronic conditions, including opioid dependence, pain, cancer and endocrine disorders. New drug products are based on their proprietary FluidCrystal® drug delivery technologies. The company’s share is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm since 2015.

Introduction

As part of the overall strategy for the company’s first commercial product launch, Camurus wants to develop their business in Denmark and need a Senior Key Account Manager with the right attitude, network and business mind to lead that development.

The position reports directly to the Country Lead for Sweden & Denmark and will work very closely with the Medical Science Lead for Denmark as well as the rest of the commercial and medical affairs organisation, primarily in the region of Northern Europe.

Responsibilities and duties

The Senior KAM’s key accountability is for sales for their region through development and execution of sales strategy and leading the effectiveness and implementation of a country plan. The role will work in partnership with a cross-functional team and will provide input into the Northern European region’s strategic and tactical plan.

Key accountabilities include amongst many others:

  • Develop and implement yearly country operational plan
  • Contribute to market access strategies to ensure all local pricing and policy demands are met
  • Ensure all local supply chain activities are aligned with company supply plans, including timely updates on forecasts 
  • Build steady and productive business relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (policy makers, payors, physicians & patient support groups) and influential customers across the country via the regional healthcare service organisations
  •  Work closely with Country Lead to provide NEU marketing with input and give feedback to the development and implementation of sales promotion campaigns and material
  • Together with Country Lead collaborate with NEU market access, marketing and medical department to develop HCP programs that are in line with strategic direction; leveraging these programs to support market expansion

Professional background and experience

The successful candidate will be experienced in sales operations in the biotechnology or specialty pharmaceutical industry. Some market access experience will be an advantage. S/he will previously have held a similar role or other relevant commercial roles. The candidate will have an ability and desire to work across the span of hands-on work and the more strategic side of this position.

Experience:

  • Market Access experience is advantageous
  • At least 5 years of commercial related experience
  • A record of accomplishment of aligning resources with key priorities, keeping the organization focused on critical milestones and consistently achieving results
  • A successful record of accomplishment of developing relationships with key opinion leaders, patient organizations and other external key stakeholders is highly valued
  • Commercial experience from ‘similar’ therapeutic areas is desirable

Language requirements:

  • Fluency in spoken and written Danish & English

Education requirements

  • Preferably a Bachelor or Masters degree in life science, business administration or equivalent
